Police in Fort St. John, B.C., say one person is dead after an “altercation” involving several people at a boat launch Friday night. 

Fort St. John RCMP say they were called to the Charlie Lake boat ramp, where officers learned of an “altercation” involving several people.

One person was seriously injured, and while police say the victim was taken to hospital by friends, the victim later died from their injuries.

The North District Major Crime Unit is now investigating what they believe is an “isolated incident.” 

They say the boat ramp will be closed as investigators comb the scene, and police are asking potential witnesses to contact Fort St. John RCMP.
