Police say a man was killed in a fatal shooting in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood Monday afternoon in what is the second fatal shooting in the city in little under a week.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) said in a statement on Monday that they received reports of a shooting at a business complex in the 13000 block of 76 Avenue just after 3 p.m. PT.
There, they found a man with gunshot wounds who died despite life-saving efforts from police and paramedics.
No one has been arrested in the shooting, and no description of suspects was immediately available.
Police also did not share any more details about the victim.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is now looking into the case, and the SPS asked anyone with more information on Monday’s shooting to contact them.
It is the second fatal shooting in the Newton neighbourhood in a little under a week, with one man killed and another injured last Tuesday in the 6800 block of 148 Street south of T.E. Scott Park.
IHIT identified the victim as a 25-year-old man and said that shooting is suspected to be part of the ongoing B.C. gang conflict.
