The Thompson-Nicola Regional District in southern British Columbia has lifted the last of its evacuation orders related to the out-of-control Ainslie Creek wildfire.

The regional district says an order has been downgraded to an evacuation alert for 58 addressed properties in the Coldwater and Patchett Road areas.

Another 94 properties that had been under evacuation alert were declared all clear.

An evacuation order issued by the Spuzzum First Nation remained in place as of Saturday afternoon related to the fire that was last measured at 677 square kilometres.

The regional district says in a statement that approximately 248 properties it covers remain on evacuation alert as of Saturday afternoon.

It says property owners are free to return but should use caution and be aware of any hazards in the area.

Bald Range wildfire

Also in the Interior, most of the areas under evacuation orders and alerts from the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) have been rescinded.

At 10 a.m. PT Saturday, the RDOS lifted its evacuation order on lands east and west of Faulder and Darke Lake; as well as three properties on McLennan Road.

The B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) said it would restrict access within the vicinity of the Bald Range wildfire, by implementing an Area Restriction Order on Saturday at 12 p.m. PT.

Under the order, a person is not permitted to remain or enter the restricted area without getting written consent of an official designated under the Wildfire Act.

There are seven exceptions based on purpose, such as supporting wildfire suppression and using a highway.
